Below are services that we use to stream movies and television.
Netflix: This is our go-to streaming service that we check first. Of all of the services that we use, they have the largest selection and best sub-titles. Additionally, Netflix has interesting original content.
Hulu: We mostly watch television here, but we have found some interesting new releases and documentaries.
Screambox: This is Carson’s first stop when looking for horror movies to watch. They have a good blend of classics and newer releases and add movies every month to their collection.
Amazon Prime: A large selection of new and old movies for a small additional charge it gives you access to premium cable content (which we do not subscribe to). Not as many movies have sub-titles as on Netflix, and the sub-titles, in general, are not as attractive. Amazon is beginning to offer original content.
Crunchyroll: This service licenses the largest number of simulcast anime series for streaming in America. Now that they’ve partnered with Funimation for distribution and licensing, large sections of Funimation’s catalog are available streaming from Crunchyroll’s site.
Funimation continues to be the premiere for simuldub releases on their own streaming service.
Moviepass: We recently subscribed to Moviepass following the drastic reduction of its subscription price and have found this to allow for more frequent trips to the theater as subscribers can see a movie every 24 hours for a small monthly fee of $10.
